Ashley Coghill Named to NC Lawyers Weekly 2025 Construction Law Power List
DHW proudly celebrates attorney Ashley M. Coghill for being named to the NC Lawyers Weekly 2025 Construction Power List. Recognized as a compassionate, nimble, and diverse practitioner, Ashley has spent the last eight years litigating construction cases across all 100 counties in North Carolina—bringing the same dedication and energy to each matter, no matter the size or scope.
Ashley’s connection to construction began early in life, when she spent her teenage summers working on projects and learning firsthand how trades and contractors collaborate to build something lasting. That early exposure shaped a career marked by a deep respect for the industry and the people behind the work.
“Construction litigation is the ultimate team sport,” Ashley shared with NC Lawyers Weekly, a sentiment that reflects both her collaborative spirit and her strategic approach to litigation.
In addition to her formidable courtroom skills, Ashley has cultivated a strong reputation for her pro bono advocacy, particularly on behalf of families working to preserve inherited property. “I delight in advocating for families to keep and maintain ownership of property that is the fruit of their ancestors’ hard-fought efforts,” she says.
Among the many cases that have shaped her practice, Ashley points to the 2020 North Carolina Supreme Court case of Crescent v. Trussway as a meaningful milestone in her career.
Please join us in congratulating Ashley on this well-deserved recognition and in celebrating the excellence, empathy, and impact she brings to her work every day.
