Constitutional Law

The United States constitution grants the national government limited powers and recognizes the people’s rights.  The North Carolina constitution beings by declaring the people’s rights and then places affirmative limits on the state government’s powers.

Our firm’s constitutional law practice focuses on protecting your rights and enforcing limits on the government’s authority.  The attorneys at our firm have challenged city’s red light camera programs, state government slush funds, and town’s misinterpretations of the law.  They have also submitted amicus briefs to North Carolina’s appellate courts, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court advocating limits on government regulations and explaining the history of our laws and constitutional limitations and how the court’s decision could affect everyday people.
